I grew up in a family of helpers. My mother was a nurse, my father was a community activist, and from an early age I saw how meaningful it can be to support other people. I have always loved working with people and hearing their stories.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a school teacher and later in social services with Project Head Start, supporting children and families. Those experiences helped shape the way I work today and reinforced how important it is for people to feel heard, respected, and supported.
I want therapy to feel comfortable and collaborative. My goal is for you to feel that we are working together toward the things that matter most to you. I am open, easy to talk to, and I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or CBT, frequently in my work while incorporating other approaches when they are a better fit for the person or situation.
I currently work with adults and couples.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my granddaughters and my 94 year old mother. Being with them gives me perspective and reminds me to appreciate the different seasons of life. I also enjoy spending time in nature.
